Nephrologist

Seeking a Nephrologist to join our well-respected group practice located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We have had the privilege of serving our community with excellent healthcare for over 25 years. Our practice has a very robust Nephrology consult service with a large referral base. The city of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas is a perfect location for work and family.

 

This position includes care of Nephrology patients in our office locations as well as dialysis clinics, and hospital rounds. The practice holds medical directorships at several DCI dialysis units. Calls are divided equally among practice physicians.

 

The candidate should be board certified/board eligible in Nephrology.

Candidates just completing Nephrology fellowship will also be considered.

 Medical Assistant - Supervisor

Specialty medical office located in Avalon, PA is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to perform both clinical and clerical duties. We are looking for a candidates with strong communication and leadership skills. 

This person will be a working supervisor setting schedules for Medical Assistants, assigning Medical Assistants to specific providers, assigning various administrative and clinical tasks. This person will also participate in the interviewing and hiring process and help complete annual performance appraisals

Additional position requirements include: rooming patients, taking vital signs, triaging patients, updating clinical records, obtaining and organizing lab results, and assisting the Providers as needed. Front desk duties include: greeting patients, checking patients in, answering the telephone, and scheduling appointments. Local travel may be necessary to satellite offices.

Ideal candidate will be experienced with an EMR/EHR system and have the ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast paced multi-physician practice. Athenahealth EMR experiences a plus. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. Medical Assistant certification is preferred. Position will report to Assistant Practice Administrator.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Basic knowledge of different types of insurance plans and benefits.

  • Knowledge of staff responsibilities to accurately direct callers.

  • Knowledge of administrative processes, procedures, and preparation of patient charts.

Skills:

  • Ability to use multi-line phone system, including transferring calls and paging.

  • Ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact while multi-tasking, organizing and scheduling patients.

Abilities:

  • Ability to works well under pressure with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work professionally and get along with other staff members.

  • Ability to elicit appropriate information to route calls to the appropriate person.

  • Ability to prevent, calm, and/or defuse irate callers and patients working with them to identify concerns and properly directs calls.

  • Ability to competently use Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and appropriate practice management software.

Education:

Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Experience will be considered.

Two years of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a medical office setting.

Medical Assistant

Additional position requirements include: rooming patients, taking vital signs, triaging patients, updating clinical records, obtaining and organizing lab results, and assisting the Providers as needed. Position will also include returning patient phone calls and handling queries at the physicians discretion. Front desk duties include: greeting patients, checking patients in, answering the telephone, and scheduling appointments. Local travel may be necessary to satellite offices.

 

Ideal candidate will be experienced with an EMR/EHR system and have the ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast paced multi-physician practice. Athenahealth EMR experiences a plus. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
